The question: Does my ex-partner have to grant permission for me to travel abroad with our children?

Usually, even after a separation, it is not necessary for one of the parents to grant the other permission to travel with their minor children, a prior notification being sufficient.

The law presumes that children accompanied by at least one of their parents can leave national territory. Thus, for an authorisation to be required, the regulation on the exercise of parental responsibilities must stipulate so, either by an agreement between the split parents or by a court decision.
