A whistleblower is anyone who has and reports insider knowledge of illegal activities occurring in an organization. The whistleblowing is an essential act to expose and prevent violations of the law that are detrimental to the public interest, as well as to safeguard the well-being of society.

Whistleblowers must be protected from retaliation should the information provided be true. In this way, it was approved the proposal for a directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of persons reporting on breaches of Union law

Therefore, Caiado Guerreiro will present and explain the content and the extent of such Guidelines.
