Portuguese language test for Citizenship our Permanent Residency application

It is open the registration procedure for the official exam of the Portuguese language (A2 level), necessary for the application to the Portuguese nationality and to the permanent residency process. The registration period will take place between October 18th and November 5th, 2019. The exam will take place between December 2nd and 6th, 2019, in Lisbon at IAVE facilities. If the registration of candidates justifies it, it may also take place in the Azores and Madeira Islands at a place to be designated.

The test is intended to prove the knowledge of the Portuguese language of foreign citizens over 18 years and can be achieved through two types of test: Written Test or Oral Test.

The Written Test integrates three components: listening comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression and is performed exclusively on computer (e-assessment) and lasts for 75 minutes.

The Oral Exam consists of an interview and takes place before a jury made up of two Portuguese teachers, being one of the teachers the candidate’s interlocutor and the other teacher the evaluator. The interview must be conducted according to a script and has a maximum duration of 15 minutes.

The registration for the official exam is done on the IAVE website, I. P., in a proper form, (http://pas.iave.pt/pan/pub/) requiring the applicant’s identification documents (passport and residence permit).

In the application form it will also be asked for the applicant’s identification details, e-mail address, telephone number and tax identification number.

The registration for the official exam is subject to payment of a fee of sixty-five euros (65,00 €).
